About Dawn

I’m a fully qualified and experienced Reiki and Healing Practitioner, and a registered and insured member of the Association for Therapeutic Healers. I’ve worked in natural health centres (including Highgate Holistic Clinic, Angel Therapy Rooms), while also offering home visits.

My own healing journey began in 1997 when I first experienced Reiki treatments. Since then, Reiki and Healing have been powerful and supportive for me during different stages of my life, working well alongside medical treatments and other therapies.

I completed a two year Energy Healing Practitioner training with Delcia McNeil (Rowan School for Healing). Training in counselling skills was followed by gaining my Practitioner Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology (Massage Training Institute). I qualified as a Reiki practitioner with Graham King (Sam Buxton Sunflower Healing Trust) and Olga Sampson. My Traditional Reiki Lineage is Mikao Usui – Chujiro Hayashi – Hawayo Takata – Wanja Twan – Anneli Twan – Olga Sampson – Dawn Taylor.

At the heart of my approach is compassion – responding with kindness to pain and suffering, and recognising that self-compassion and self-love are part of the healing journey. I have more than 25 years’ experience of supporting people to improve their health and mental/emotional well-being.

I regularly attend training and professional supervision as part of my continuing professional development.

Previously I had a career in Health & Social Care. For more than 20 years I specialised in mental health support services, dementia care, supporting carers and managing services. This background gives me a deep understanding of the impact of complex health needs. I gained my Diploma (Level 5) in Leadership for Health & Social Care and a BA (Hons) Social Policy & Administration. I’m also qualified and experienced in Traditional Thai Yoga Massage and this enriches my healing work.
